The fiesty singer – who landed her first US number one with her new single So What – believes people in the States still consider her to be unhinged because of her turbulent life, despite phenomenal record sales.
She said: “No one could believe I was number one. They still think I’m a psycho back home.
“I just laugh and don’t pay attention. I guess I’m pretty much all over the place.
“I’m pretty much in your face and that can work against me. People still don’t get me.”
However, the recently divorced 29-year-old star – who became involved with drugs at an early age before cleaning up her lifestyle – insists she leads a normal life.
She said: “I’m a regular person, I have a garden I like to relax in when I’m not working, I read books – it’s not all parties.”
Pink has now vowed to learn French after being inspired by the late singer Edith Piaf.
She added to the Daily Star: “I was listening to a lot of French music, old singers like Edith Piaf. It was inspiring.
“I’m taking French classes and I’ve given myself the target of being fluent by the time I’m 35.”
