THE FACES are to reform for a charity gig at the Royal Albert Hall next month.

Great news; a slight snag being that lead singer Rod Stewart can’t make the event, due to prior commitments. One of the seminal band’s other key members, Ronnie Lane, died in 1997.

But that still leaves us Ronnie Wood, Ian McLagan, Kenney Jones, plus guest Bill Wyman, to lay down that famous Faces’ sound.

“This will be so special for us, staging a reunion for such a wonderful and prestigious event.” said Wood, referring to the Helping the Heart Of Music concert concert in which the Faces will feature.

“Sadly Ronnie Lane can’t be with us, but I’m sure he will be there in spirit, God bless him.”

Helping the Heart of Music is run by the PRS for Music Members’ Benevolent Fund, which helps music industry people fallen on hard times.

Other performers on the night are set to include Spice Girl Melanie C, Chris Difford from Squeeze and Mick Hucknall out of Simply Red.

The Faces/Helping the Heart of Music gig is on at the Albert Hall on 25 October. Go here to get your tickets.
