MICHAEL JACKSON was warned by spoon-bending friend Uri Geller to stop popping strong painkillers.

“I shouted, ‘Michael stop it, Michael you will die, you’re killing yourself. Look at you, the world needs you, nobody wants to lose you’,” Geller says in an ITV show to be broadcast this Sunday.

“He was there in bed and he just stared at me and, you know, I’m sure he knew of course, I’m sure he knew but only God knows now why, why he did this,” added Geller.

Jackson died in June, probably after taking an overdose of a variety of painkillers. This week, police raided the office of Dr Conrad Murray, Jackson’s personal doctor and the last man to see the singer alive.

Phentermine and clonazepam were found and it is thought Murray is likely to face a manslaughter charge.
