CLOSE to a million people are expected to turn up at venues across town over the next few days for the second London 2012 Open Weekend.

A celebration of all things Ma href=”http://www.londonnet.co.uk/sport/events”>sport and culture, Open Weekend aims to get us all into the Olympic spirit with a number and variety of events that would make a decathlete blush.
Highlights include Moon Weekend at the Greenwich Observatory (linked to the 40th anniversary of the first Apollo mission), Do Something Different Weekend at the Barbican, where you can dance, sculpt and make music, and Design & Make It Weekend at Somerset House, a DIY craft and fashion event.
