Zack Norman – who co-starred with Douglas in 1984 movie Romancing the Stone – filed a lawsuit at Los Angeles County Superior Court yesterday (24.04.08), claiming the Oscar-winning actor breached his contract.
Norman claims he was promised USD1 million as a reward for buying into a company that helped develop entertainment projects with Douglas – but never received the money. Norman is now seeking compensation.
This is not the first time Douglas has been involved in a court battle. In 1997, James Parker – a New York golf caddy – sued the actor for USD25 million. Parker claimed Douglas had hit him in the groin with a golf ball, causing him to lose a testicle. He also lost his job. The case was settled out of court.
Douglas is currently filming new drama Beyond a Reasonable Doubt alongside
Amber Tamblyn and Jesse Metcalfe.
