Isaac, who is the eldest brother in his family band, had surgery last night (04.10.07) after he was diagnosed with Paget-Schroeder Syndrome – a form of pulmonary embolism which causes blood clots in the lungs.

Ken Phillips, Isaac’s representative, told People magazine: “Everyone in the Hanson camp are very pleased with the outcome of Isaac’s surgery. Isaac, Taylor and Zac are all looking forward to getting back out on the road doing what they love best, performing.

“The life-saving surgery was performed by Dr. Bradley Grimsley, who was extremely satisfied with the results and expects Isaac to make a full and swift recovery.”

The 26-year-old musician was hospitalised in Dallas’ Baylor University Medical Centre on Tuesday (02.10.07) after complaining of severe chest and shoulder pains following a show. He is expected to be released from hospital today (05.10.07), and hopes to be back performing with Hanson on Monday (08.10.07) in Knoxville, Tennessee, as part of the band’s ‘Walk’ tour.

Hanson first shot to fame in 1997 with their hit single ‘MMMBop’, which topped the charts worldwide and was one of the biggest debut singles of all time. Isaac became a father for the first time in April when wife, Nicole, gave birth to their son Clarke Everett.

His brother Taylor, 24, now has three children with wife Natalie, while the youngest Hanson sibling, Zac, 21, married his girlfriend of five years, Kathryn Tucker, in 2006.
