Duffy is too embarrassed to sing in front of her family.

The 23-year-old Mercy singer recently played at the Royal Albert Hall – as part of the Teenage Cancer Trust charity shows – but refused to invite any of her nearest and dearest, because she isn’t confident enough to let them see her perform.
She told New magazine: “I didn’t invite any of my family, and there’s a part of me that thinks maybe I should have. I like to keep them away from my music. I have never really included friends and family. There is a lot I need to learn before I can present myself to them – I need to get a little bit more confident.”
Duffy has been catapulted to fame this year.
Her single Mercy topped the UK singles charts, while her debut album Rockferry claimed the number one spot in the UK album charts. In May, she will play dates in New York and across the UK.
