Relations between band members plunged to an all-time low before sessions for Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends started, lead singer Chris Martin has revealed.

Chris is quoted by The Sun as saying: “The place we got to two years ago felt dirty. We weren’t speaking. We all had our corner office in a tower block, but there was no vibe.”

The group eventually managed to patch up their friendships with a little help from legendary producer Brian Eno, who worked on the LP with the band.

Chris said: “We had to get our own place and then call Brian in. We decided to play in a little room, forget the awards and reviews.”

Coldplay release Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends on June 12.
