Chris Rock has given 175 under-privileged children a USD250 gift certificate each as an early Christmas present.

The Everybody Hates Chris star and his wife Malaak generously treated the kids at the Bushwick Salvation Army Centre, in Brooklyn, New York, to the voucher, which could be spent at US superstore Target.
Many children bought iPods and PSPs (Playstation portables) but some bought Christmas gifts for their families, including one girl who spent all her money on jewellery for her mother.
As well as the gift certificates, the kind-hearted couple also donated USD110,000 to the centre, where Chris spent much of his youth, and the Safe Horizon charity.
After their shopping spree, the children watched a special screening of two episodes of Everybody Hates Chris at the Brooklyn Academy of Music. Earlier this year, Chris and Malaak’s marriage was rocked by claims the actor had fathered a 13-year-old illegitimate son.
The couple have two daughters, Lola Simone, four, and three-year-old Zahra Savannah.
