Sarah Ferguson thinks her daughter, Princess Beatrice, has a “cool” boyfriend.

The Duchess of York – who divorced Beatrice’s father, Prince Andrew, in 1996 – thoroughly approves of her 20-year-old daughter’s boyfriend, Dave Clark, and has even revealed she has a nickname for him.
She said: “I call him Mr. Smiley he smiles and he’s happy. I love Dave. He’s cool.”
Sarah, 49, added she is especially taken with Dave because he treats her daughter so well.
She said: “I’m really proud that he’s with Beatrice. Beatrice is so special, it takes someone very nice to be with her – to appreciate how good she is.”
Sarah’s glowing assessment of her daughter’s boyfriend comes shortly after she revealed Beatrice and her sister, Princess Eugenie, don’t want her to marry again.
She claimed her children were horrified when the subject of her love life arose recently.
She revealed: “They said, ‘Mum, no way! You’re cool like you are!’
“So often I think that if I could go back to being the bride I was in 1986 when I married Andrew with the knowledge I have now. I was so happy and so in love.
“He’s a fantastic father and friend and you cannot put Andrew and I in a box of any description. He said I must never say this, but he said, ‘We are divorced to each other, not from each other.’ We are the happiest unmarried couple.”
