LONDON gets a double dose of St Patrick’s Day this weekend, with two major events celebrating all things Irish.

First up on Sunday morning is the St Patrick’s Day Festival, centred on Trafalgar Square, which features a top line up of Irish musicians and dancers.

Then comes the St Patrick’s Day Parade. Starting at Hyde Park corner at midday and winding its way towards final destination Whitechapel, the parade features floats, marching bands and plenty of other performers.

Luckily, the Parade route includes Trafalgar Square, so it is possible to enjoy both sides of the Day at the same time. This year, the parade is a shared one with Dublin and once the marchers and dancers have done their stuff, they’re off over the Irish Sea to do it all over again.

St Patrick’s Day proper is next Thursday, 17 March, when hundreds of pubs across London get in on the act.
