THE SAS is building a secret Thames-side bunker within striking distance of the London Olympics, from which it plans to launch attacks on terrorist suspects during the 2012 Games.

That’s according to a source quoted in The Sun today, who reveals that the SAS (Special Air Service) and its sister organisation the SBS (Special Boat Service) aim to use high speed boats to get to the stadium in Stratford.

“All scenarios are being anticipated,” says The Sun’s source.

“London will be protected like never before and the message is clear: if anyone is fool enough to try to endanger the public at these Games they will be met with the swiftest retribution by the best equipped troops of our most elite fighting units.

“Troops can deploy by air and water and be on site in moments.”

As well as the riverside base, further bunkers are under construction. It is also believed that undercover soldiers have already practised in and around the Olympic site for a variety of scenarios using live ammunition.

“They’ve been preparing for months,” added the source.

“It’s a huge mission and [this] reflects the gravity of the threat.”
