“He’s not dying of skin cancer,” said Randy Phillips, boss of concert promoters AEG.
“I would trade my body for his tomorrow. He’s in fantastic shape.”
Yesterday, Team Jackson announced that the first four concerts of their man’s 50-date O2 residency starting on 8 July have been put back to March 2010, citing the need for extra time to get the show ready.
Jacko’s opening night for the This Is It tour will now be 13 July.
That all led to speculation that the reason for the delay was because rumours Jackson had skin cancer were true. Some reports even suggest that the singer is due to have surgery on chest growths today.
But Kenny Ortega, the man in charge of the This Is It stage show, was having none of it.
“These choices were made purely based on the practical needs and the responsible needs of putting up a first class production.” said Ortega.
“It just wasn’t practical for safety reasons and professional reasons, but physically and mentally we’re having a blast. We’re having a great time.”
You can still get your hands on tickets for those “first class productions” here.
