WONDERS of the world don’t come around very often, so today could go down in history, as a new hotel unveils the biggest hanging basket on the planet.

“We’ve taken our inspiration from the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, one of the seven wonders of the world,” said Karin Nielsen, of the Indigo Hotel London Paddington.
“We hope that our hanging garden will become a wonder of London.”
Maybe calling it a “garden” is pushing it, but the basket does measure 20ft by 10ft, about the size of many London backyards, and it weighs in at over a quarter of a tonne, which would be a lifetime’s supply of horse manure for many a border.
The basket features more than 100 varieties of plants and flowers, including ivy, orchids and roses and the hotel hopes its evident beauty will back up its image as a ’boutique’ hotel.
