HARRY POTTER is set to cast his spell over James Bond, with the boy-wizard’s film series about to smash the secret agent at the box office and win the title of best-selling film series of all time, ever.

Today the latest Potter movie, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, hits the world’s cinema screens and by the end of its run, the odds are strong that current film series title holder Bond will be left shaken and stirred.
Figures produced by Variety magazine show that so far the Potter series, with five films, has taken $4.5B while Bond’s collection of 22 movies has raked in $5B.
The worldwide appeal of the Potter franchise is reflected in the decision of promoters to launch it across the four corners of the earth – and beyond – on the same day. It’s even being released in China’s remote riot-torn city Xinjiang and appears to have a fan in heaven, given the praise showered on the film by the Vatican.
