The Sex and the City: The Movie star – who plays Carrie Bradshaw’s gay best friend Stanford Blatch in the hit US TV series and film adaptation – revealed the adoption is almost complete.

Willie, 44, said: “I’m almost done. My son will be from Los Angeles County. It’s a big deal. It’s a big decision!”

Willie – who is currently unattached – also revealed he doesn’t think adoption should be an easy process, because it is such a life-changing event.

He added to E! News: “You know what, it should be difficult. It’s not like buying a suit or another pair of glasses.”

However, Willie said he is not sure whether his new son will make friends with other celebrity offspring living in the state. He laughed: “He’ll only play with them if I like their kids. My kid is going to be the coolest!”
