Jackson Jordan, 37, confessed to officers he fell in love with the Kill Bill star after their ‘eyes connected’ as he watched her in one of her films.
He said: ‘Years ago, I saw Uma Thurman in a movie and our eyes connected. I could see she was making contact with me. Over the years my attraction to her grew. We are meant to be together. She is a wonderful person.’
Jordan went to New York to meet Uma but claims she rebuffed him when he tried to confront her on a movie set. He faces charges of harassment, stalking and felony coercion -the latter charge came after he threatened to kill himself if he saw her with another man.
Jordan, a former California graduate student, was arrested last month outside Uma’s Manhattan home where he had begun living in his parked car. The obsessed fan once tried to break into Uma’s trailer on a film set in 2005 and bombarded her and her family with emails declaring his love for the Pulp Fiction actress.
During the hearing in a Manhattan court on Friday (16.11.07), Jordan told Judge Lewis Bart Stone: ‘I plead guilty. I mean, I plead not guilty.’
Assistant District Attorney Chris Hill said: ‘Jordan has a longstanding fixation with this celebrity.’
Defence lawyer George Vomvolakis claimed the coercion charge was ‘a stretch,’ and said, ‘Mr. Jordan should not be prosecuted to a higher degree because the victim is a public figure.’
But Judge Stone refused to lower Jackson’s $10,000 bail and sent him back to jail where he has been since he was arrested last month.
