Despite being an early favourite, 16-year-old competitor Henderson found herself with the least votes on Sunday night’s (18.11.12) episode and was voted off the competition, and her mentor Contostavlos was upset when the youngster thought it was her own fault she was out of the show.

She said: “It was just me and my family in her dressing room afterwards and she was so gutted.

“I think she thinks she’s to blame. I was telling her, ‘Please don’t feel that way’.

“She stuck by me from my first audition. I’m so glad I had her as my mentor. I think she did everything she could. I think I have a close friendship for life.”

However, Ella is not so upset about the end of her time on the show, and feels like a “weight has been lifted” from her.

She is quoted by the Daily Star as saying: “It’s so intense. You’re really working yourself to the limit.

“It’s a relief to be out, to be honest. It feels like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders.

“I feel like I’ve done everything I needed to do on the show and I’m excited to get back to the studio and hopefully get working on my album.”
