Sugababes star Amelle Berrabah is leaving her home town of Aldershot to escape “jealous” family and friends.

The 23-year-old singer and her boyfriend Freddie Fuller – who is still recovering following a vicious machete attack in Aldershot on Christmas Eve (24.12.07) – are moving to London “for good” to avoid “more trouble”.
Amelle, whose bandmates Keisha Buchanan and Heidi Range have reportedly been “rallying round” their friend, told the Daily Mirror: “I can’t take this any more. I’ve been so down about it. I’ve lived in Aldershot since I was born but Freddie and I are leaving for good.
“I can’t trust some people who I thought were my friends. It’s taken me two years to realise this. But I don’t want to get into trouble anymore. I love being in the band and if people are jealous, I don’t want anything to do with them.
“We just want a quiet life now in London and are still planning to get married.”
Keisha and Heidi are said to be making an effort to keep their bandmate in “good spirits”.
A source said: “The girls have really been rallying round Amelle. They’re keeping busy doing lots of stuff in Europe to keep their minds off things. They’re in good spirits.”
Amelle is due to appear at Aldershot police station on February 21 on charges of allegedly attacking a car earlier this month. The About You Now singer has suffered a series of setbacks in recent months.
In February, Freddie was arrested for the attempted rape of Amelle’s sister Samiya, but was later cleared. In April, Amelle spent a night in jail after being accused of assaulting an 18-year-old girl at the Bar Med nightclub in Guildford, Surrey.
