Snooki – who gave birth to son Lorenzo Dominic LaValle in August – advised the couple to enjoy every minute.
She told the New York Daily News: “It’s hard, but don’t stress out. Enjoy your pregnancy and be excited.
“Enjoy your time at home – or the castle, in her case – with the baby. Especially the first few months.”
However, the royal couple will find it difficult not to “stress out” as they were forced to announce the news before Catherine – previously known as Kate Middleton – reached the 12 week mark in her pregnancy, when she was admitted to hospital with severe morning sickness.
A statement from Buckingham Palace said: “Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Cambridge is expecting a baby.
“The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall and Prince Harry and members of both families are delighted with the news.
