Despite announcing their impending divorce last month, motorcross rider Carey says the Stupid Girls star still holds a special place in his heart.
He said: “Above and beyond everything, we are the best of friends and she is the love of my life. We talk all the time.”
Following the split, Pink begged fans not to treat Carey as a scapegoat for the breakdown of their marriage, insisting: “Carey is a good man, and our break-up is not about cheating, anger or fighting.”
Carey, 32, also revealed he is concentrating on his work now he is single again. He is planning to open Wasted Space – a nightclub and bar area inside Las Vegas’ Hard Rock Hotel complex – this summer.
He added to People magazine: “It’s about rock ‘n’ roll decadence. It’s everything a rock ‘n’ roll bar should be – dark, gritty, comfortable with plenty of booze and a lot of loud, rocking-out music.”
Carey and Pink first met at the 2001 X Games. They split for a short period in 2003, but got back together and tied the knot in Costa Rica in January 2006.
