The band are giving away a CD-ROM and songbook featuring as-yet unheard music and lyrics songs from their forthcoming album Dig Out Your Soul and inviting fans to submit their own versions of three songs – Bag It Up,

The Turning, and (Get Off Your) High Horse Lady – to a special website. The winning entry will receive a VIP trip to an Oasis concert anywhere in the world.

The band have teamed up with the British Arts Council for the giveaway, which will come free with next week’s NME magazine.

Guitarist Noel Gallagher – who is against the current trend for bands to give away their music for free – said: “The gift of music is very special and anything that can bring music into a kid’s life is an incredible thing.”

The giveaway is to promote the Arts Council’s Take It Away scheme, which provides interest free loans for musical instruments to help aspiring young musicians.

Emma Greengrass of Oasis’ own record label Big Brother Recordings admits she is excited about hearing fans’ interpretations of the tracks.

She said: “I’m looking forward to seeing what they come up with. I hope that there are some quieter versions and some interesting variations.”

The giveaway package will be given its own catalogue number, making it a collector’s item for fans.

It will also include two exclusive video interviews with the band, an introduction written by Noel Gallagher, lyrics and sheet music for four Dig Out Your Soul songs – Bag It Up, The Turning, (Get Off Your) High Horse Lady and single The Shock Of The Lightning.

It will also contain Dig Out Your Soul album artwork, video instructions to play the band’s debut single Supersonic, Oasis screensavers, wallpapers, desktop widget and link to exclusive micro-site and competition details.
