Mel B transformed herself into ‘Lady Spice’ to wow the Dancing with the Stars judges last night (01.10.07).

The Spice Girl, who is partnered by professional dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy on the US TV show, scored 23 out of a possible 30 from the three judges for her quickstep routine.
Mel, who has taken etiquette classes to improve her posture, wore a stunning full-length pink dress and had her hair elegantly swept back in an effort to prove she can be ladylike.
She said: “I want to show America I can be a lady. I’m going from Scary Spice to Lady Spice.”
Judges Len Goodman and Bruno Tonioli were overwhelmed by Mel’s transformation, with Bruno gushing: “You have the twinkle-toes of Ginger Rogers. What a makeover. It worked!”
However, judge Carrie Ann Inaba was not as impressed, warning Mel, “Watch your shoulders”.
Len and Bruno awarded her eight points each, while Carrie gave her seven. Mel and Maksim will find out tomorrow (03.10.07) if they managed to win over the voting US public and progress into the next round.
Before last week’s show, Mel headbutted Maksim during rehearsals. The singer clashed heads with Maksim while practicing the cha cha cha but managed to recover in time to impress the judges with a “feisty” performance.
Mel, who is set to tour with the Spice Girls in December, admits dancing with her bandmates is very different to performing routines on Dancing with the Stars and she is taking the competition seriously.
She said: “If I messed up with the Spice Girls I’d turn round to Victoria (Beckham) or Geri (Halliwell) and we’d laugh.
“But on this show it’s important that I do well because the main competition for me is in my head, so I’ll let myself down and I’ll let my dance partner down.”
