KATE WINSLET has bagged two Golden Globe nominations for roles in two different films.

She’s up for Best Actress for her part in Revolutionary Road and Best Supporting Actress for The Reader, leading the British charge at the gong fest along with Ralph Fiennes, who also gained two nods.
Like Winslet, Fiennes was pencilled in for Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor prizes, in his case for Bernard and Doris and The Duchess respectively.
Other British stars in the box seat for Golden Globes are Dames Judi Dench and Eileen Atkins (for Cranford, a BBC drama) and Emma Thompson, for Last Chance Harvey.
Patriotic considerations apart, the Globe headlines were taken by the late Heath Ledger, whose portrayal of The Joker in The Dark Knight is odds-on favourite to beat the likes of Fiennes to the Best Supporting Actor bauble.
The Golden Globes ceremony takes place on 11 January 2009.
