The 35-year-old Juno actress – who co-stars with Jason Bateman as a childless suburban couple who agree to adopt a pregnant teenager’s unborn baby – confessed the family member has no idea they were the inspiration for the role.

Speaking at a Producers Guild of America screening of Juno in New York last week, Garner said: ‘My character is based on someone related to me. She doesn’t even know it yet! And it will kill her when she sees the movie.’

Jennifer – who has a two-year-old daughter Violet with husband, actor Ben Affleck – joked her revelation means the relative will probably snub her this Christmas.

The star quipped: ‘I’m definitely not going to get any Christmas presents from her!’

Last month, the Alias star was named Glamour’s Woman of the Year.

Jennifer graced the cover of the US publication in an exquisite floor-sweeping backless turquoise gown for the November issue honouring fantastic females.

The actress was recognised as a shining example of how to juggle a successful career and a happy family life with style and elegance and honoured at a glitzy event at New York’s Lincoln Centre on November 5.
