The supermodel took pictures of eight-year-old Mingus which have now been used for Royal Mail stamps to coincide with Mothers’ Day, which is celebrated in Britain this Sunday (02.03.08).

The limited edition collection will be sold on internet auction site eBay, with the proceeds going to domestic violence charity Women’s Aid and Help the Hospices.

Helena said: “I am delighted to be involved in such a positive initiative. The images I’ve chosen mean a lot to me as a mother.”

A spokesman for Royal Mail – which is also releasing a sunflower stamp – said: “This is the second year we have run this auction. It proved so popular we invited Helena on board.”

The 39-year-old Danish beauty recently said she was enjoying being a mother so much she is considering adopting a child from Peru. Helena – who split from Mingus’ father, actor Norman Reedus in 2003 – said: “If I can’t have a second child. I would love to adopt from Peru. It would be amazing to help a disadvantaged child.”
