The much-awaited release is a thematic follow-up to the hugely successful American Idiot and continues the band’s attack against what’s goin’ on in the US and beyond.

American Idiot sold 267,000 copies in its first week and industry experts expect the new LP to at least match that mark, which would easily take it to number one in the US, despite only being on sale for half of the week used in compiling the chart stats.

Green Day are off on a world tour soon to promote 21st Century Breakdown, the European leg starting in September, with four nights at London’s O2 in October, tickets for which are still available.
