The Gimme More singer’s parents Jamie and Lynne – who believe their daughter’s erratic behaviour is down to bipolar disorder – are not welcome in her life, says the singer’s manager Sam Lutfi.

Lutfi said in a telephone conversation, with Britney at his side: “They just barged in. They have an agenda. Their agenda is jealously because they don’t fit in. I do. They see her three times a year.”

Britney’s manager was responding to reports that her family is staging a secret intervention this week, behind his back, in an attempt to save Britney from his influence.

A family source said: “They see him as a counterproductive, disquieting force in her life. Lynne and Jamie are on the same page. They think he is an evil megalomaniac.”

Britney’s parents arrived at her Beverly Hills home on Monday night (28.01.08) as she sat sobbing on the pavement outside her front gate, following an argument with Lutfi. Jamie and Lynne spent yesterday morning (29.01.08) with Britney in Los Angeles while she shopped for a car.

A witness at the car lot said: “Lynne and Britney were arguing in the car the whole time on the drive to the dealership. After Britney left, she pulled over to the side of the road to argue with her mom more.”

Meanwhile, Mark Vincent Kaplan – the lawyer representing Britney’s ex-husband Kevin Federline in their custody battle for sons Sean Preston, two, and 16-month-old Jayden James – wants Britney to pay his legal fees.

Kaplan has filed a motion seeking over USD500,000 in legal fees for his work between last July and the end of the trial, set for April. Britney must pay the fees for her 29-year-old ex-husband’s lawyer, despite losing all access to her children. The court has already ruled that she pay USD120,000 to Kaplan
in legal fees for his work between July 30 and October 8 2007.
