The singer/DJ was sentenced at Snaresbrook crown court on Friday 16 January after being found guilty late last year of falsely imprisoning Audun Carlsen.
Carlsen told the earlier trial that the former Culture Club frontman – real name George O’Dowd – handcuffed him to the wall and beat him with a chain as he made good his escape.
Passing sentence, Judge David Radford told George he had been guilty of “gratuitous violence”, which was “premeditated”, “callous”, and “degrading”.
Carlsen was “denied his dignity” Radford added.
The victim, a Norwegian male escort, was accused by George of hacking into his computer, an allegation denied by Carlsen.
