The troubled singer was arrested at 5pm after voluntarily turning herself into Shoreditch police station, in London’s Hackney, in connection with the investigation into her husband Blake Fielder-Civil’s charge of perverting the course of justice.

A Scotland Yard spokeswoman said: “A 24-year-old woman has been bailed to return to an east London police station on a date in early March pending further inquiries.”

Amy’s father Mitch added: “Amy’s arrest has been planned for the past three weeks so it’s nothing new to any of us. She was asked to attend the police station to be questioned and have her DNA taken to assist them with the investigation into Blake’s charges. My main concern is my daughter’s welfare. She has family with her and is perfectly fine helping the police.”

Blake is currently being held in custody in Pentonville Prison after allegedly conspiring to pervert the course of justice by bribing James King, the landlord of Macbeth’s public house in Hoxton, to withdraw his allegation of grievous bodily harm (GBH) against the 25-year-old.

He will be remanded in custody until January 18 for a plea and directions hearing.
Earlier this week, police confiscated the ‘Rehab’ star’s mobile phone records, bank details and computer software and investigated her financial dealings in a bid to connect her to Blake’s alleged crime.
