“I’m definitely going to do a few more of those 7ins,” lead singer Damon Albarn told the NME.

“I love the no pressure aspect; just going in the studio and recording it in a day is something we haven’t done since the B-sides in the early days.”

Fool’s Day was the first release to feature all four Blur members in seven years and marked the coming together of a band which had often suffered internal strife.

Such was the improvement in atmosphere that there is even talk of a new album, though fans will have to wait a bit for that.

“I don’t want anyone to think there’s an album coming soon,” warned Albarn.

“It’s not possible, but we’ve got songs! And at some point in the undetermined future there will be a record at the end of it.”

He went on: “I love the no pressure aspect. Just going in the studio and recording it in a day is something we haven’t done since the B-sides in the early days.”
