The specially commissioned car is expected to reach UKP40,000 when it is sold by London auction house Bonhams on 3 December.
The vehicle comes complete with its original logbook and custom-made interiors, including silver gilt cigarette boxes, a silver jewellery box, six silver topped decanters and two posy holders.
As well as being used for many undercover trysts with Wallis, the car was also used to drive Edward to 10 Downing Street – the home of the British prime minister – to announce his abdication on 10 December, 1936.
The king was forced to renounce his title after the British cabinet and Prime Minister Stanley Baldwin refused him permission to marry Wallis, a twice-divorced American socialite.
Following his abdication, the Buick was used to take the former king to Portsmouth where it was loaded onto a ferry to France, and driven by Edward to Cannes to meet Wallis.
The king was given the title of the Duke of Windsor by his brother, George IV, on 12 December 1936. Wallis became the Duchess of Windsor when she married Edward on 3 June 1937.
As the Duke and Duchess of Windsor, the couple used the car for a further three years.
The world’s oldest Rolls Royce – expected to reach up to UKP2 million – will also go up for sale in the Bonhams auction.
