The Prince of Wales opened the Bethnal Green Museum in 1872, which became the Museum of Childhood 102 years later under the directorship of Sir Roy Strong. Today, the museum delights children of all ages with one of the most extensive collections of toys, teddy bears, dolls, games and puppets in the world dating from the 1600s to the present day. There are daily activities for children, including arts and crafts, storytelling and performances.
