The country's oldest museum opened in 1683 and holds an extensive collection with archaeological exhibits from Britain, Europe, Egypt, the Mediterranean and the Near East. Old Masters, watercolours, prints, porcelain and ceramics are on display while the ethnographic section has Tibetan, Indian sculpture, Islamic art and Chinese bronzes.
