Shakespeare’s New Place

A garden space on the site of Shakespeare's death.

A preserved garden space on the site of Shakespeare's death in 1616, which reveals the footprint of the Shakespeare family home.

When William Shakespeare became rich, he negotiated the purchase of New Place. The house was, infamously, demolished in 1759 but an ingenious garden space reveals the footprint of his home and includes commissioned artworks and displays that illuminate the playwright's family life in Stratford-upon-Avon until his death in 1616.
