Scottish Chamber Orchestra

Live Music, Classical.

The Scottish Chamber Orchestra will bring the clarinet and cello centre stage with a lively recital of clarinet trios by Beethoven and Brahms. SCO's Principal Conductor, Maxim Emelyanychev will showcase his talents on the piano for a dynamic performance with Orchestra Principals, clarinettist Maximilano Martin and cellist Philip Higham. Together Emelyanychev and the SCO players will bring to life the tastes and traditions of the late 18th century with Beethoven's charming Clarinet Trio in B-flat. Full of texture and playful shifts of key, Beethoven wrote the work to delight his listeners. The concert concludes with Brahms' late Clarinet Trio in A minor. Written after he had declared his professional retirement, the Trio was felt to signal a "rebirth" for Brahms and in this elegant piece the instruments stir up the warmth and colours of autumn. This event will also include the launch of The Cumnock Tryst 2020 festival programme.
