Join us for ane evening of storytelling and celebration of local history as we launch the debut book by Marianne McShane. Marianne retells a little known story about the medieval Abbeyof Bangor, where one day a monk discovered a boy washed up on the shore claiming to have been savded by a mermaid. A beautifully told and illustrated story of kindess, music, longing and Bangor, we are delighted to welcome Marianne to tell the story and celebrate the launch. Marianne is a storyteller and author who has recently returned to Northern Ireland after living and working in America. She has been a featured storyteller at several festivals, having honed her craft as a children's librarian. This is her first book.
