The rockers have asked fifty renowned musicians, artists and other celebrities to create their own version of their classic album and single covers for Pictures: 40 Years of Hits, which will be sold at London auctioneers Bonhams on November 5.

As well as the band, personalities including musicians Alice Cooper and Brian Wilson, Chelsea and Liverpool football clubs, comedian Harry Hill and the cast of British TV soap Coronation Street have contributed artworks to the sale, with all money raised going to the youth charity.

Entrance to the auction is by invitation only, but all of the images can currently be viewed on Status Quo, Bonhams and Coutts’ websites.

Online bidding on the items is available at www.prices-trust.org.uk/statusquo until midday on the day of the auction, though the highest online bidders will be given the opportunity to continue.

Paul Gambaccini will preside over the auction, with eight lots going under the hammer and the remaining 42 will be sold by silent auction.
