The ex-royal servant, who currently lives in Florida, has put his townhouse in Cheshire, England, on the market for UKP550,000 – sparking rumours about the future of his marriage.
A source said: “People have been really surprised to see the ‘for sale’ sign go up. We can only wonder what this means for Paul and his wife Maria as far as his marriage goes. This seems to suggest that she is also feeling the need to move on.”
Paul lived at the four-bedroom Georgian property – in the village of Farndon – with his wife and two sons Nicholas and Alexander for almost 10 years, before he decided to move to the US.
The 50-year-old – who also owns the building next door which is used as a flower shop – is believed to be keen to cut all ties with the village and remain in the US.
Meanwhile, the wife of Paul’s brother-in-law Ron Cosgrove has branded Ron’s claims Paul had an affair with the late Princess Diana “preposterous”.
Ron’s wife Adriann said: “I would like to make it clear that I completely disassociate myself with everything Ron was reported to have said. I do not believe the preposterous account he has given and continues to stand by.”
Ron’s brother Pete Cosgrove has also criticised his sibling for making the allegations.
Pete fumed: “Ron has always been the black sheep of the family and now we want nothing more to do with him.”
