Mike Tindall admits drink driving

Mike Tindall, the boyfriend of Zara Phillips, has pleaded guilty to charges of drink driving.

The England rugby player was pulled over on the M4 motorway on March 15 as he was on his way to watch his country’s match against Ireland as part of the Six Nations championship on March 15.

The night before, Mike – who was sitting out of the game due to a bruised liver injury stemming from the month before – was spotted at the Cheltenham Festival with Zara, where he appeared to be “looking the worse for wear” according to onlookers.

Appearing at Reading Magistrates’ Court, the 29-year-old yesterday (07.07.08) admitted he was driving with an alcohol level of 91mg of alcohol per 100ml of blood, way above the legal limit of 80mg.

Mike’s sentencing has been adjourned until October 24, when a medical expert will give evidence on the “special reasons” Mike claims to have had for committing the crime.
