The 02 will be transformed into a 10,000 seat cinema for the sequel to The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe complete with Europe’s biggest ever screen measuring some 30m by 12m and a sound system pumping out 50,000 watts, the kind of thing you’d usually expect at a rock concert.

Outside the O2, characters from the Narnia series including knights, horses and sword fighters are set to entertain the huge crowd and Neeson and company are to approach the venue via a red carpet that’s 190m long, which is about the length of two football pitches.

On top of all the glitz and record-breaking, the event is in support of the Great Ormond Street Hospital for children.

The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian goes on general release on 26 June.
