LONDON UNDERGROUND has admitted that a train with no driver travelled for four miles on the Northern Line this morning (13 August).

What caused the train to head off on its own is as yet unknown, but a Transport for London spokesperson promised that “a full investigation has been launched into this incident”.

The runaway train – motoring from Archway to Warren Street – was on an early morning engineering mission so as well as no driver, there were also no passengers.

Those of a superstitious mind should look away now: today’s date is Friday 13th.

Coincidentally, there’s a new Denzel Washinton film – Unstoppable – due out in November which features a runaway train laden with toxic material.
