MADONNA was back in London yesterday to celebrate good news in her battle to adopt another Malawian child.

Over dinner with long-time pal Stella McCartney at Cecconi’s in Mayfair, the Queen of Pop welcomed news that the extended family of Mercy James backs her adoption bid.
That will help when Madonna appeals last week’s court judgement in favour of the three-year-old’s dad, James Kambewa, who is against the adoption.
But Kambewa’s claims are now subject to dispute.
“This man didn’t care about his girlfriend, Mercy’s mother, when she needed him most,” said Mercy’s uncle, Peter Baneti.
“He didn’t even come to see his baby.”
Another relative questioned whether Kambewa was even Mercy’s father.
Hopefully, the case will be settled one way or another in time for the London leg in July of Madonna’s Sticky and Sweet tour.
