Launching a drive today to recruit 2,000 16-18 year-olds, Olympic organisers said that nerves-training would be part of the package offered to volunteers.

“These Young Games Makers are under the age of 18 and we wanted to make sure we provided the right environment for them,” said Jean Tomlin, head of Human Resources for the London Games.

The 2,000 16-18 year-olds will join some 70,000 over-18s already earmarked to provide help during the games next year.

“The calibre of people wanting to volunteer for our Games is just unbelievable,” said Tomlin.

Unlike with the adult volunteers, who can apply individually, under-18s are asked to apply via their regular sport club. More details on the official site.
