LILY ALLEN has today confirmed her decision to take a break from music, despite being handed a Q Award yesterday for Best Track of the year.

“I’m tired and I’ve written about everything that has happened in my life in the past 10 years,” Allen told BBC Radio this morning.

“I feel like I need to live life a little bit more before I start writing again.”

The good news for Allen fans is that it’s only the writing she’s tired of; she’ll carry on performing live in the meantime and she’s next due in London for a series of shows at the Brixton Academy in mid-December.

Better still, The Fear singer isn’t scared of making a comeback to writing new material once she’s had a good spell on the sidelines.

“I’ll be back, but I just reckon that the world could do with a bit of a break from me and I could do with a bit of a break from it,” she said.

Allen went out on a high, bagging the Q single award ahead of the Arctic Monkeys, Dizzee Rascal, Kasabian, Muse, and the Noisettes.
