A man who has ruled the light entertainment scene for both mainstream channels is Bruce Forsyth and the 80-year-old trooper was honoured with a Fellowship of the Academy prize for his services to the industry.

“This year has been emotional and the best year of my life,” said Forsyth, who then quipped:. “When I walked up on the stage I didn’t expect everyone to stand up to applaud me. I thought they were getting up to leave.”
