Duchess Kate will be out of action until Christmas and will miss a series of high-profile public outings, including next week’s London premiere of The Hobbit.

Though she was released from hospital yesterday (06.12.12), the 30-year-old mother-to-be is to play it safe and skip all royal engagements over the next few weeks due to suffering from debilitating acute morning sickness.

Kate has called off two engagements this weekend alone after being ordered to rest in Kensington Palace, following her four-day stint in Marylebone’s King Edward VII hospital.

She will most likely next be seen in public at the royal family’s Christmas Day church visit to Sandringham, the Telegraph newspaper reports.

The duchess – formerly known as Kate Middleton – has cancelled her visit to homelessness charity Centrepoint at the Royal Albert Hall on Saturday (08.12.12), as well as an appearance at the British Military Tournament at Earl’s Court on Sunday. However, William will honour their engagements and is set to attend both events alone.

The parents-to-be were also to attend the Royal Film Performance of The Hobbit in Leicester Square next Wednesday (12.12.12), but sources say Kate’s presence is now highly “doubtful” and she would be “governed by medical advice”.

She is likely to remain in London near her doctors until she is fully recovered.
