Francis is a poacher in the East Sussex hinterlands, who savours a solitary existence on the fringes of society, pilfering what he needs in order to survive. His lawless day-to-day routine in thrown into disarray by the unexpected arrival of estranged teenage son Julian. The boy hopes to reconnect with his old man and their relationship blossoms with tender encouragement from Francis’ on-off girlfriend Carole, who plays in a band.
