Shot by more than 12 cinematographers over a four year period, Winged Migration is a beautifully mounted nature documentary offering an intimate portrait of birds, their mating rituals and migratory patterns. The film travels the length and breadth of the globe, from Antarctica to the Arctic circle and back again, to follow various species on their epic journeys north and south for the winter season, employing all manner of transport including hot air balloons and airplanes to capture the birds in flight.
