In 1963 Wyoming, Dick Cheney works on the power lines and drinks to excess. He is a crushing disappointment to 21-year-old sweetheart Lynne. In response, Dick secures an internment at the White House where he assiduously aligns himself with Republican Congressman Donald Rumsfeld. By playing the waiting game on Capitol Hill, Dick manoeuvres himself into the position of running mate to George W. Bush during the 2000 US presidential election.
